Principal’s Message

Stone Lake Elementary

At Stone Lake Elementary School our goal is to provide a safe, enriching and academically rigorous educational experience for ALL students.  Stone Lake has a history of high academic performance.  In 2012, Stone Lake was bestowed the prestigious honor of being named a California Distinguished School, and our Academic Performance Index (API) is consistently well over the state target of 800, with our current API being 888.
Our district’s mission is to provide a learning community that challenges ALL students to realize their greatest potential, and our staff is committed to that goal.  Our success in implementing this mission statement is evidenced through:

  • A rigorous academic program that is based on the adopted Common Core State Standards, with collaborative teams of teachers that meet to analyze data and determine the best way to meet the needs of their students
  • Opportunities for students in class and out for extension activities that make for well-rounded students
  • An active relationship between our home community and the school

A strong home-school partnership is paramount for a successful school, and Stone Lake has a very strong partnership with our parent community.  This partnership is exemplified in a number of ways.  First, the Stone Lake PTO is instrumental in supporting our school library, our very popular Reading Counts program, providing technology for our classrooms, and supporting our students’ academic and enrichment endeavors in any way possible.  This year we also implemented our Watch D.O.G Dad Program.  This program is bringing dads on to our campus to help in classrooms and also on the playground during lunch and lunch recess.  We have over 60 dads signed up for this program, and the number keeps growing.

As your principal, you can expect that I will communicate and do my best to keep our community connected to our school, and I pledge to do my best each and every day to help provide a safe and engaging learning environment.  With the support of our parents and the dedication and hard work of our staff, I am sure that Stone Lake will continue to be one of the top schools in our district.
